Bai Sor's Modern Take on Traditional Khmer Cuisine located within the sophisticated Tribe Hotel in Phnom Penh, Cambodia. The restaurant's name "Bai Sor" means "white rice" in Khmer, representing the foundation of Cambodian cuisine.
I've been here three times since its opening with colleagues and friends, and the excellent Khmer food and great dining experience deserve to be shared. Why am I sharing only now, and not after my previous two visits? Simply because I didn't have this blog page until recently, nor did I have my food blog on social media. If you are visiting Phnom Penh and looking for Khmer cuisine to experience food and culture in a plate, here are my highlights about Bai Sor.

Location & Ambiance
Situated in Tribe Hotel Phnom Penh at the far end of riverside, just around the corner from the iconic Cambodia Post building. The restaurant features modern interpretations of traditional Khmer design elements, creating an elegant dining atmosphere that honors Cambodia's rich cultural heritage.
Culinary Approach
Bai Sor offers refined Khmer cuisine that blends authentic Cambodian flavors with modern cooking techniques.
Menu Highlights
Traditional Khmer dishes
Focus on locally-sourced ingredients and seasonal produce
Pricing
The pricing reflects an upscale dining experience, partly due to its hotel location and high-quality ingredients. They use premium items like wagyu beef, lobster, and crab instead of the traditional meats and seafood found in local street-style Khmer restaurants. In my opinion, it's worth every bite. I spent about $35 for five dishes shared between two people, not including happy hour drinks.
Appetizer $3.00 - $6.00
Salad $8.00 - $11.00
Soup $5.00 - $16.00
Curry $5.00 - $15
Braised $5.00 - $8.00
Charcoal & Roasted $9.00 - $29.00
Stir-Fried & Fried $3.00 - $20.00
Fried Rice $5.00 - $10.00

Operating Hours
Open daily from 6:30 AM - 10:30 Pm
Dining Experience
The restaurant offers a carefully curated menu that showcases the depth and diversity of Cambodian cuisine, presenting elevated versions of home cooking and street food. The service seamlessly blends traditional Khmer hospitality with international dining standards.
